Coach Slater brings a wealth of knowledge and will be helping the Pirates with recruiting, scouting, and player development. Slater previously served in several roles regionally, including as the head coach at Archbishop Murphy High School where he posted an overall record of 19-4. He was a men's basketball assistant at Lane College from 2016-18. Most recently, he served seven yeras as the head women’s basketball coach at Whatcom Community College. Coach Slater’s record at Whatcom was 80-47, with three NWAC Sweet 16 appearances and one NWAC Elite 8 appearance. In 2020, the Orcas were region champions and Coach Slater was selected as North Region Coach of the Year.
